Visible from a great distance, the Alleppey lighthouse is well-known as the Alappuzha lighthouse. It has been remembered as a massive skyscraper that celebrates the seclusion by the beach strip while donning red and white stripes. The amazing skyscraper was initially erected in March 1862, which makes it nearly 148 years old. The Alleppey or Alappuzha lighthouse, which stands about 4 kilometres ahead of the town of Alappuzha, offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the ocean and Alleppey's territorial land, which is primarily covered in dense, lush vegetation. Declaring itself to be among Kerala's earliest lighthouses, it was built during the period that Marthanda Varma-II Maharaja ruled the area.

The Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple is built during AD 15th Century. The idol at Ambalapuzha is likened to Parthasarthi with a whip in the right hand and a Shankhu (sacred conch) in the left. This temple is directly associated to the Guruvayoor Sri Krishna Temple. During the raids of Tipu Sultanin 1789, the idol of Sri Krishna from the Guruvayoor Temple was brought to the Ambalappuzha Temple for safe keeping. The payasam served in the Ambalappuzha Temple is famous sweet pudding made of rice and milk has an interesting mythological legend behind. It is believed that Guruvayoorappan reaches here daily at the time of Palpayasa Nedyam to have it. The Amabalapuzha Temple Festival was established during 15th Century.
